Brian Mulholland

Born: November 7, 1978

Brian Mulholland is a lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington. The courses he has taught include Jazz History, Music Business, Music Appreciation, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Mulholland was bassist for the late jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson. Brian's debut album, Deco, was part of the Maynard Ferguson Presents Series, but it is now available at www.bandmecca.com and www.cdbaby.com.Deco showcases all-original, quirky songwriting for jazz quintet. Mulholland undertook graduate studies from the world-renown faculty at the University of North Texas. In addition to lessons with well-respected bassist Lynn Seaton, he performed with the L5 Guitar Ensemble and in the 3 O'Clock Lab Band (Jay Saunders, dir.). He became the Jazz Bass and Jazz Theory Teaching Fellow in 2004, teaching undergraduate and graduate jazz bass lessons

Started playing el. bass in 1987. Played in rock/metal bands. Toured the U.S. several times in various bands primarily on the west coast while living in Arizona. Currently living in upstate NY and performing in NPV.

Zane Maertens

Born: November 17, 1977

Zane Maertens grew up in south East Spain and began his musical journey on the faithful 'ol banjo at the age of 13. After moving to England in 1991, He was given his first guitar by his father and began studying classical guitar & Gypsy Jazz styles. After attending the Guild Hall School of music and Drama In London on Classical Guitar, the natural progression was to move onto Bass. from then on, there's no looking back. After Playing the London Pub/Club circuit for a few years in Various bands, the need for travel was burning away. Taking the obvious and easiest way to gain experience and travel the world is Touring the world on Luxury Cruise Liners

Johnny Walker

Johnny Walker has been playing electric bass for over 20 years. Currently he is living and gigging in the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona. Dave Putson

Dave is a Bassist and has been playing and teaching in South East London for 20 years. In 1989, Musicians Academy in Wapping provided an enrichment and visionary setting for Dave and his Electric Bass. This gave Dave the desire, impetus and knowledge to begin to take his musical aspirations to the next level. Dave successfully auditioned for the MUSICIANS INSTITUTE of Los Angeles in 1991. Then Studied with some World reknowned musicians and tutors such as Gary Willis, Scott Henderson and Jennifer Batten. He received an accelerated degree in Music in 1992. Since returning to the UK, Dave has played with several Bands most notably "So What" who toured extensively throughout the UK

John Morton

My first instrument is a 1979 Wal fretless strung with with 20-year-old half-rounds, held together with string and chewing-gum; my second, an unhygenically filthy 1979 fretted Music Man strung with slightly newer roundwounds; my third, a rather more recent (sadly) and cleaner (also sadly) Fender Precision, set up according to the James Jamerson prescription with LaBella flatwounds and a chunk of foam under the pickup cover. I use Eden amplification. I hate effects, though I do use a Mu-tron with the Music Man if things are heading in that direction. Can't read/won't read - so I improvise a lot

The music is a combination of Techno, House, Jazz, Funk and Underground Hip-Hop Breakbeats. The compositions/recordings are created using live and electronic instruments (Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Synthesizers and Drum Machines). There are no samples or computers used. All of the instruments are played and performed by Matthew who also produces, mixes and does his own recordings.
