Deep Blue Organ Trio

Celebrating the classic jazz combo configuration of the Hammond B3 organ, guitar and drums, and the Black- American experience through music, Chris Foreman, Greg Rockingham and Bobby Broom bring a modern sensibility to a musical timepiece. Swingadelic

Swingadelic began in 1998 as the neo-swing movement was cresting. Bassist Dave Post gathered his jazz & blues playing pals together to play engagements at New York City's Supper Club, Swing 46 and Windows On The World. As the swing scene waned the band turned to dances, concerts, festivals, schools and private engagements to keep active. Swingadelic has performed at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing, NJPAC, and at many festivals, including Bele Chere (Ashville NC), MusikFest (Allentown PA) the CD 109 Jazz & Blues Festival (Red Bank, NJ) and the sanofi-aventis JazzFest (Madison NJ). George Gee Swing Orchestra

While he was a Freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, George Gee launched his Make-Believe Ballroom program (named after the vintage Martin Block show) on the college radio station - and told everyone who’d listen about his dream of leading his own big band. In an era when punk, new wave and heavy metal ruled, some first thought that George was revisiting the past. Twenty-five years later, it is delightfully clear that George was just way ahead of his time! The only Chinese-American Swing big band leader, George Gee is unique in so many ways. The snap in his fingers, the shuffle in his step and that unbridled joy he radiates and spreads like ecstatic wildfire to all his world-class musicians make immediate and permanent impressions on audiences, musicians, and dancers - even seasoned press! It must be in his blood—since he was a kid, all George ever wanted to do was lead his own big band. A native New Yorker, George always loved music

Mike Hyziak

Active since:

Mike fully realized he wanted to be involved in music while taking his first music theory class during his junior year of high school. Excelling rather quickly, it became clear he had a natural understanding of music (theory & practices), thanks in part through the encouragements of his closest friends and teachers, and most importantly of his then recently-deceased grandfather, who also led a musically- involved life. Two big band compositions were created during his senior year (2001) and performed various times, including as part of a jazz ensemble competition held yearly at the Springville Pageant of Bands
