Spiral Trio: Spyros Manesis piano Arionas Gyftakis double bass Anastasis Gouliaris drums The three Greek jazz musicians met in 2012. From the very first moment a unique chemistry between them was shown, which, ever since has been developed with their live performances in jazz clubs and jazz festivals throughout Greece and the rest of Europe. On 2017 they released their debut album "Spiral Trio" by ANKh Music Productions, which was almost consisting of jazz standards and, recently, on 2022, they have released their second album, “Broken Blue”, consisting mostly of original compositions of the members of the trio, by Odradek Records

Born in Athens, Greece he started his musical education at the age of 15 with the drummer Antonis Garinis and later on with Nikos Sidirokastritis. He continued with educator and sax player Sylvios Syrros at the Athenaeum Conservatory, where he took his diploma in drums and jazz improvisation. He took lessons with Billy Hart, Mark Guiliana and Adam Nussbaum. He studies classical percussion with Kostas Vorissis and Kostas Theodorakos. He is a graduate from the Athens University of Economics. He started his musical carrier with the jazz- ethnic group Avaton performing in Greece (Athens International Festival 2002, Just Dance Festival 2004 , as well as many music halls and jazz clubs) and Europe (2002 Balkan Square Festival in Fyrom and Serbia , 2004 Jazz progetto Festival in Cremona- Italy, 2005 Aquila- Italy)

Jazz pianist Spyros Manesis is born in Athens, Greece on 1978. His studies include degrees on classical and jazz piano at Athenaeum Conservatory (Athens, Greece, with M. Aivazova, G. Kontrafouris, S. Syrros) and Bachelor and a Master's degree on jazz piano from prestigious Conservatory of Amsterdam (K. Boehlee, H. Vroomans, K. Goessens, R. v. Bavel and H.Fraanje) and a Musicology degree from the University of Athens. On 2008 he made his first album as a co-leader with project TRIOISM (ANKh JAZZ). On 2011 he released “Undelivered” (JACC Records) with almost exclusively original compositions and arrangements for piano trio with Joao Hasselberg on double bass and Kaspars Kurdeko on drums

He came into contact with music at the age of 10, when he met the guitarist-composer Kostas Eliades with whom he started and completed his studies in classical guitar. With years of apprenticeship by the internationally acclaimed composer / guitarist / improviser Andreas Georgiou, he was taught jazz guitar, jazz harmony, advanced music theory, improvisation, analysis of musical forms and structures, composition approaches etc. During his apprenticeship, he received a wide range of knowledge, stimulation and guidance as to the aesthetics and philosophy of music.
