02. Earth, Wind & Fire (MIX).
A caso, qualsiasi loro CD ascolti, il groove e gli arrangiamenti sempre attuali sono una bomba di energia.
03. Steely Dan - Aja (MCA - 1977).
Classe e raffinatezza ai massimi livelli e uno Steve Gadd che rivoluzionava il drumming nei dischi pop.
04. Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now (Wea - 2000).
Magica, inarrivabile per poesia ed eleganza e gli arrangiamenti di Vince Mendoza sono emozione pura.
05. Phil Woods - Live from the Show Boat (Novus - 1991).
Un live del 1976, il disco che mi ha fatto "innamorare" di Woods.
06. Frederic Chopin - Valse in Ab OP.69 e Mazurka in Amin OP.17.
Due perle che mi commuovono per l'intensità delle frasi melodiche e la malinconia delle armonie.
07. Giacomo Puccini (MIX).
Non un'Opera in particolare ma l'interezza del suo genio e modernità con dei passi che sembrano anticipare Bill Evans piuttosto che John Williams!
08. Donna Summer (MIX).
Una delle regine della Disco Music anni '70, mi divertono quel sound e quel groove potentissimi.
09. Steve Swallow - Chris Potter - Adam Nussbaum - Damaged in Transit (XtraWATT - 2003).
Un live di un trio pazzesco con le chicche compositive di Swallow.
10. Montreux Live (MIX).
Le riedizioni in CD dei concerti/jam session prodotti da Norman Granz con i grandi O.Peterson, C.Terry, R.Brown. L.Bellson, H.Sweet Edison, N.Pedersen, R.Eldridge, B.Durham, J.Pass e molti ancora. Swing allo stato puro che ancora mi godo ricordando i miei inizi quando suonavo sopra queste registrazioni e sognavo di fare il jazzista per sempre!
