Salvatore Bonafede
Capolavoro (uno dei tanti) di Kenny Wheeler.
02. Chick Corea - Now He Sings, Now He Sobs (Blue Note - 1968).
03. Miles Davis - Thelonious Monk - Miles & Monk at Newport (Sony/Columbia - 1958).
Il sestetto di Miles con Cannonball e Coltrane dal vivo. Esplosivi!
04. Joni Mitchell - Mingus (Asylum - 1979).
05. Jaco Pastorius - Word of Mouth (Warner Bros - 1981).
Il mio disco preferito di tutti i tempi. Il prolungamento della follia di Jaco Pastorius. O forse della follia punto.
06. Charles Mingus - Changes One (Rhino - 1974).
07. Sonny Rollins - Coleman Hawkins - Sonny meets Hawk (BMG - 1963).
L'assolo di Paul Bley su "All the Things You Are" è "avanti" anni-luce rispetto ai tempi. Anche oggi.
08. Federico Mompou - Cancons i dancas (Ensayo - 1974).
09. Paul Simon - Surprise (Warner Bros. - 2006).
10. Norma Winstone - Somewhere Called Home (ECM - 1986).
Una voce pura e astratta, testi superbamente malinconici, atmosfere rarefatte. Se vi è un'identità di jazz europeo, la ritroviamo in questa registrazione e in quelle di Kenny Wheeler.
