Rope: Saints and Sinners
Con una diabolica abilità tecnica, il gruppo (che riunisce due esponenti del collettivo El Gallo Rojo (Senni e De Rossi) e uno dell'associazione Bassesfere (Puglisi) sintetizza, amalgama e miscela tutti gli aspetti del jazz della grande epoca: dallo swing esplicito ai "saliscendi" monkiani, passando per il tocco "classico" e cristallino di John Lewis. Il tutto con una purezza di suono che non è pura imitazione ma retrasposizione di uno spirito e di un incontenibile divertimento (vezzo tipico dell'Avanguardia) da parte di musicisti ormai ferratissimi.
Intollerante ad operazioni calligrafiche (altro vezzo dell'Avanguardia) il trio sa donare ai brani un'inedita linfa vitale perfino all' abusata "St. Louis Blues," che parte con un'attacco degno del vulcanico Cecil Taylor per poi virare verso un canonico blues. I due originals si muovono a singhiozzo, tra improvvise galoppate swing sulla tastiera e melodie frammentate.
