Naturale davvero questo esito, dal momento che la direzione dei lavori di Ayers - anche a prescindere da inevitabili differenze di qualità, invero mai eccessive - è sempre sembrata proiettarsi verso una plasticità ritmica transgenerazionale, in cui convergono differenti influenze e altrettante se ne aprono.
Possono così fare riferimento alla musica di Ayers DJs, strumentisti di area nujazz, artisti hip-hop, come bene testimoniato da questo Virgin Ubiquity: Remixed in cui i brani del vibrafonista sono riletti da Kenny Dope dei Masters At Work, Matthew Herbert, Dj Spinna, Basement Jaxx, Vikter Duplaix, King Britt e molti altri.
Qualità media particolarmente alta, con menzione d'obbligo per Dope alle prese con "Holiday", la caldissima resa latin di "Liquid Love" da parte di Aloe Blacc, le due differenti versioni di "Kwajilori", "I Am Your Mind" che i Basement Jaxx lanciano dentro un'estate senza fine. Le premesse perché venisse fuori un lavoro di remix non scontato c'erano tutte e non sono andate deluse.
