Opera prima, autoprodotta, questo album è una sintesi del percorso musicale del chitarrista Nick Russo. Brani risalenti a periodi diversi, eseguiti con organici diversi, e caratterizzati da atmosfere piuttosto distanti tra loro. Alcuni schiettamente jazz, altri permeati da venature brasiliane, altri ancora cantati. Come spesso accade quando c'è molta carne al fuoco, l'album mostra anche una certa disomogeneità e non tutte le composizioni sono allo stesso livello.

I brani più interessanti sono, a nostro avviso, quelli che si discostano maggiormente dalla tradizione jazzistica. In tali composizioni, Russo utilizza infatti strutture ritmiche molto interessanti (nella traccia che dà il titolo all'album, ad esempio, c'è un groove in 4/4 e 7/8, che diventa 6/8 e 7/8 nell'ultima frase) che conferiscono all'album un andamento piacevolmente danzante.

Purtroppo dalle note di copertina non possiamo intuire quali brani risalgono a quale periodo. E' quindi impossibile stabilire se nella scrittura di Russo convivono simultaneamente differenti anime, oppure se c'è stata un'evoluzione stilistica ben precisa, un graduale e progressivo distacco dalla tradizione. A noi piace propendere per la seconda ipotesi.
