Kaspar Ewalds Exorbitantes Kabinett: Reptil

Kaspar Ewald è un personaggio sopra le righe e l'ultima sua trovata è quella di corredare il CD di in un ricco booklet, con immagini al confine tra la "foto-storia" ed i servizi di moda alla Io Donna, e di arricchire il tutto con interessantissime note biografiche dei musicisti, quali altezza, peso, numero di denti e stato di salute dei medesimi, paure e desideri di re-incarnazione.

Date le premesse ed il personaggio, la musica scaturisce di conseguenza. Delicati momenti romantici che vengono stravolti dai tromboni, jazz da big band che sfocia nel rumore (o viceversa), composizioni para-classiche e citazioni autenticamente classiche (un estratto della Sagra della primavera di Stravinski che sarebbe piaciuto ad Alfred Hitchcock).

Una band con molto "tiro", che non ammicca all'ascoltatore ma si diverte anzi a spiazzarlo. Quando si crede di aver capito la direzione del brano, ecco un ardito e sorprendente cambiamento di scenario. Il tutto con una naturalezza, una omogeneità ed una creatività disarmanti.
