Francesco Diodati "Neko": Purple Bra
L'album ci tiene piacevolmente compagnia per quasi un'ora, tra passaggi veloci ("Krashing Minds") e frammentati ("Kort"), che si alternano a situazioni chiaroscurali e distensive ("Suvi"). Le architetture sonore sono di spessore e lasciano affiorare una certa voglia di ricercatezza espressiva. Diodati cede di frequente la parte di primo attore al tenorista Francesco Bigoni, senza però perdere mai il pallino melodico della situazione.
Dalla sei corde escono note calde e misurate. La funzionalità del leader all'interno del progetto è pari a quella di un fantasista di classe pronto al passaggio smarcante, all'assist decisivo. Tutto questo altruismo rende Purple Bra un disco dal respiro corale, dove ognuno degli interpreti ha la sua ampia zona di manovra.
Si dice in giro che i giovani jazzisti italiani hanno talento, e quello dimostrato da Francesco Diodati ne è conferma sincera.
