Voce e chitarra e poi ancora un intrecciarsi di contrabbasso, batteria e strumenti a tastiera (dal piano all'Hammond), canzoni e improvvisazioni: si presenta così Positively Pessimistic, la nuova prova discografica della cantante svizzera Judith Zurcher, che per l'occasione ha composto nove nuove canzoni, tutte indiscutibilmente "jazzy".

Seppure dice cose già dette, il disco contiene alcuni brani ("Easy" e "Slowly" ad esempio) che per intensità espressiva, per semplicità e ispirazione melodica, per lo scarno ed essenziale abbellimento strumentale brillano su altri.

Positively Pessimistic è un disco di canzoni easy listening, che ben documenta, tuttavia, il lavoro creativo della cantante Judith Zurcher.
