Bei suoni e notevoli atmosfere in questo CD dell’Orchestra da Tre Soldi, un quintetto base, al quale si aggiungono nelle diverse tracce vari ospiti e che gira attorno a composizioni originali di sapore cameristico con influenze etniche, brani di Kurt Weil (dai quali trae il nome l’ensemble), composizioni tradizionali riarrangiate, alcuni evergreen da varie parti del mondo.

Un repertorio molto vario, che trova senso e unitarietà nel colore dei clarinetti di Gianni Gilli e del violino di Massimiliano Gilli, arricchiti dalla fisarmonica di Matteo Castellan, vere colonne del gruppo, ai quali si aggiungono ora l’eclettica voce di Rossana Landi, ora l’altra voce strumentale, quella del violoncello di Paola Secci.

Ne scaturisce un lavoro che suona contemporaneo e colto, al quale non mancano momenti di infuocate improvvisazioni (si ascoltino i clarinetti di Gilli in “Promenade”), ma è al tempo stesso molto concreto e richiama l’attenzione anche dell’ascoltatore meno sofisticato, offrendo riletture originali di atmosfere note.

Bel gruppo di musicisti, degni di attenzione.
