01. Kris Bauman Quartet feat. Kurt Rosenwinkel (Fresh Sound New Talent - 2002).

Un altista dal suono molto personale, che è già cosa degna di nota, dalle notevoli qualità solistiche; belle composizioni e buon gruppo. Un CD assolutamente interessante.

02. David Binney - Bastion of Sanity (Criss Cross - 2005).

03. Pietro Tonolo - Portrait of Duke (Label Bleu - 1999).

Gran bel disco.

04. Warne Marsh - Ne Plus Ultra (Hatology - 2006, ristampa).

Marsh è un maestro assolutamente sottovalutato!!

05. Lennie Tristano - Requiem (Atlantic - 1955).

Un altro grande maestro nel linguaggio improvvisativo e compositivo, esploratore e innovatore nelle forme e nelle tecniche (qui ad es. "Line-up", "Turkish Mambo", "Requiem").

06. Kurt Elling - Flirting with Twilight (Blue Note - 2001).

07. Sinatra/Basie - An Historic Musical First (Reprise - 1963).

Realizzato assieme a Count Basie e alla sua orchestra con arrangiamenti di Neal Hefti. Gran swing!!

08. Lennie Tristano - Warne Marsh - Intuition (Blue Note collection 1949-56).

09. Duke Ellington - Money Jungle (Blue Note - 1962).

In trio con Mingus e Roach, Ellington suona come compone! Interessante e sorprendente.

10. Phil Woods - Warm Woods (Epic Sony - 1957).

Credo sia una delle prime registrazioni ufficiali di Woods; lo stile era già maturo e le sue frasi avevano già la forma che lo contraddistingue tuttora, ma il suono era meno tagliente, più morbido e rotondo.
