The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) will honor the 2019 NEA Jazz Masters at a tribute concert held in collaboration with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, hosted by Jason Moran. The concert will also be available via a live webcast at both All About Jazz and Jazz Near You.

- Stanley Crouch—Jazz Historian, Author, Critic, Co-founder of Jazz at Lincoln Center (2019 A.B. Spellman NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship for Jazz Advocacy)
- Bob Dorough—Vocalist, Composer, Arranger, Pianist
- Abdullah Ibrahim—Pianist, Composer
- Maria Schneider—Composer, Arranger, Bandleader
About The tribute concert
The tribute concert will be hosted by Kennedy Center Artistic Director for Jazz Jason Moran, and will include remarks by 2019 NEA Jazz Masters Abdullah Ibrahim and Maria Schneider. Patrick C. Dorian, distinguished professor emeritus of music at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will represent Bob Dorough, who passed away in 2018 shortly after being notified of his Jazz Masters honor. Loren Schoenberg¸ senior scholar with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, will represent Stanley Crouch, who is recovering from an illness and will be unable to participate in the Jazz Masters events. In addition, Mary Anne Carter, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, and Deborah F. Rutter, president of the Kennedy Center, will both give remarks. Terri Lyne Carrington will serve as the concert’s music director.Performances
