Jackson, pianist, composer and columnist for Down Beat; MCANA members Anne Midgette, classical music critic for The New York Times, and Ken Smith, freelance music writer. The panel is co-moderated by Frank J. Oteri, Music Critics Association of North America, and American Music Center's webmagazine “New Music Box", and Howard Mandel, JJA president.

“Jazz Matters" is held at the New School's Jazz and Contemporary Music program, 5th floor performance space, located at 55 West 13 Street (between 5th & 6th Aves.) Admission is free.
