Mathias Landaeus
Notoriously playful pianist and composer Mathias Landæus has released over twenty albums as a leader on labels like Moserobie, Clean Feed, Prophone, Amigo and others. Originally from Lund, he lived in New York in the 1990's, then moved to Stockholm where he became an important figure on the jazz scene in the late 90's. In addition to his inspiring work as a composer and musician, he has had a crucial role in building community by starting live scenes like the influential Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm, and the ongoing club Underground in southern Sweden, which he has been curating since 2010. Recently he has initiated the musicians’ network ”Jazz for Climate Justice”. His lyrical touch and original quirky style has earned him a reputation as a world class jazz pianist and improviser. Through the years Landæus has collaborated with numerous artists, continuously expanding his horizon and exploring new expressions. As a composer, visionary leader and master collaborator, his work celebrates connection, imagination and freedom.
