About the Album
Lisbon is the music of album Anhum, by bassist, composer, professor, and researcher Ghadyego Carraro, features the participation of many renowned musicians, such as multi-instrumentalist Arismar do Espírito Santo, the young and virtuoso Portuguese accordionist João Barradas, and the mandolinist from Brasília, Victor Angeleas, in addition to a heavyweight team from the instrumental scene. The album pays homage to the original peoples of the Americas, proposing different sounds influenced by the artist's experiences in various environments and places. Songs like Brasília, Recanati, and Lisboa establish interconnections with cities and countries where the artist has lived and reflect some of these sounds. Stylistically, it is an album that focuses on the dialogue between contemporary jazz and Brazilian and South American music. The album presents melodic fluidity, high-level improvisations, and a lot of group interaction, while also bringing to the forefront sonic elements from South America, the artist's native continent, which intertwine with contemporary musical aspects characteristic of creative avant-garde music.
