Ghadyego Carraro

Ghadyego Carraro is a double bass player, composer, educator and researcher from Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil. Voting member of the Latin Grammy Academy, collaborating researcher to CESEM - Universidade Nova de Lisboa / Portugal. Finalist of the Pr.mio Profissionais da Música 2025. Recognized as one of the great instrumentalists and composers of instrumental music in his state. He holds a PhD in history from UPF, researching the sounds of Brazilian music, especially the regional accents present in the South American context, and a master’s degree in acoustic double bass from UFG. He has performed in the main Brazilian capitals and in numerous European cities, such as Berlin, Leipzig and Munich (Germany), Paris (France), Recanati, Fabriano, Coccore, Castelnuovo (Italy), Zurich (Switzerland), Lisbon, Sintra (Portugal).

Awards

Finalist for the 2015 Music Professionals Award for best composer and album. Considered for the 2025 Latin Grammy with the album Anhum.
