Tartamella Django´s Clan: La strada del tabacco

La musica manouche non è mai scomparsa, almeno in paesi come la Francia o la Germania, dove i musicisti che continuano ad ispirarsi a Django e Stephane Grappelli si esibiscono regolarmente in locali in cui il pubblico li aspetta con impazienza. Chitarristi, ed anche violinisti, come il rumeno Florin Nicolescu, continuano a tenere alta la bandiera della tradizione aggiungendo di tanto in tanto qualche brano della musica contemporanea, ovviamente trasformato in termini ritmici ed esecutivi, a standards famosi.

Ed anche in Italia si trovano adepti del genere, come ci testimonia questo disco del clan di Carmelo Tartamella, eseguito per lo più in trio, cui in tre brani si aggiunge la voce e la chitarra di Carmelo Leotta. Su composizioni di Django e proprie Tartamella ed il suo clan si divertono ad eseguire una musica fatta in uno stile che è uno degli esempi piú tipici del jazz di origine europea. Niente di nuovo, tuttavia insolito per quello che si fa in Italia. Manca un violinista alla Grappelli, e chissà che non si riesca a trovarne uno fra i giovani che escono dai conservatori. Fra gruppi swing e dixieland una riedizione del famoso quintetto di Django Reinhardt ci starebbe proprio bene.
