Matteo Negrin: Jouer Sans Frontieres

Matteo Negrin nasce a Torino nel 1974 in pieni anni di piombo, decidendo di rimanere nell'ombra, mangiare omogeneizzati ed ascoltare dischi dei Beatles. Inizia così l'autobiografia che il chitarrista piemontese riporta sul proprio sito, e ci sembra possa introdurre al meglio quest'ultimo lavoro per Dodicilune. Essenziale, senza ridondanze di particolari, arguta, sdrammatizzante, spiritosa e con un riferimento, anche se lontano nel tempo, da non sottovalutare.

Perché in Jouer Sans Frontier, Negrin sta alla larga da più o meno scontati riferimenti ai grandi della chitarra, jazz e non, ma piuttosto fa trapelare la capacità di concentrarsi sul suono, sulla precisione architettonica delle esecuzioni, e soprattutto su una naturale propensione alla melodia che era uno dei marchi di fabbrica dei Fab Four. L'ottima qualità della registrazione permette di apprezzare appieno tutte le sfumature della sei corde classica di Negrin, che predilige i colori pastello e le atmosfere rarefatte ma sa anche essere volitiva e penetrante.

Le percussioni di Giuseppe Dimasi e il contrabbasso di Saverio Miele si muovono felpati evitando di essere semplice fondale per lo strumento solista ma cercando e trovando un dialogo paritetico che trasmette tranquillità ed intensità all'intera registrazione. La presenza, in quattro tracce, della fisarmonica di Matteo Castellan aggiunge un ulteriore pennellata di colore ad una incisione piacevole e curata.
