Musica da camera inedita e raramente suonata..

Musica scritta appositamente da Phillip Johnston per il film muto giapponese, del 1926, Kurutta Ippeji (A Page of Madness).
04. Polka Potente - New Austrian Folk Music on Traditional Instruments. Reclaiming the polka (Extraplatte 744-2).
Adoro lo scacciapensieri e la cornamusa e purtroppo ho perso il loro concerto al festival di Saalfelden 2009. La cosa migliore è stata quindi comprare il loro CD!
05. George Russell Sextet - Ezz-thetics (Riverside - 1961).
Sempre bello riascoltare questo disco meraviglioso.
06. Maneri, Morris, Maneri - Out Right Now (HATology - 2000).
Adorabile musica microtonale registrata dal vivo al Loft di Colonia nel 1995.
07. Pauline Oliveros - The Roots of the Moment (HATology—2006).
Semplicemente la fisarmonica temperata di Oliveras e l'elettronica di Peter Ward.
08. Cachao - Descarga (Classic - 2002).
Acquistato a prezzo stracciato ancora a Saalfelden. Sembrerebbe una ristampa di Descargo Y Mambo, la qualità della registrazione è modesta ma la musica è grande. E' un piacere sentire il basso di Cachao che accende la miccia della sua musica. Solo Mingus aveva questa forza, veramente!
09. Art Pepper - The Survivor (Chant du mond - 2008).
Presentato da Andre Francis e Jean Schwarz, è una raccolta che parte da "Stan Kenton and His Innovations Orchestra" del 1950 e arriva fino a "Art Peppers Nine" del 1957. Splendido disco di un meraviglioso altosassofonista.
10. Tommy McMahon & Bernard O'Sullivan - Irish traditional concertina music of Co. Clare (The Clare set vol.5) - (Celtic Grooves).
Sono un grande fan della musica per concertina irlandese e la ascolto appena posso.
