Janis Siegel with the John Toomey Trio at the Attucks Jazz Club

View read count
This past April Norfolk, Virginia jazz fans were treated to a wonderful evening of music with the Jimmy Masters Trio and special guest vocalist Janis Siegel. Proving one can never have too much of a good thing Siegel recently returned, this time to the Attucks Jazz Club joining the John Toomey Trio, Toomey on piano, Masters on bass and Emre Kartari on drums, for another night of versatile and engaging vocal interpretations of some well known and lesser known tunes. This group of well-seasoned musicians did not need gimmicks or shtick to entertain their audience, their talent and relaxed performance showcased four artists comfortable with themselves and each other. Hopefully, Siegel will return soon for a "three times a charm" visit. The following are photos from the show.
