Martino De Cesare: In a Sentimental Sud
È la stessa impressione che ci hanno fatto certi album di Pat Metheny: pianure sconfinate e torte di mele, mentre qui quei suoni ben si adattano al Sud italiano, rappresentato come si deve da musicisti che si sono messi d'impegno per non farlo capire. Fra gli ospiti ci sono Pietra Montecorvo ed Eugenio Bennato, con cui De Cesare collabora spesso.
Non sembra neanche un pop d'autore, vista la facilità (uno degli assunti dello smooth jazz, dopo tutto) con cui l'album scorre all'ascolto, ma con il coraggio di provare a fare qualcosa di acustico che non ricalchi per forza la - gloriosa, beninteso - tradizione.
