Nicola Piras: Immersione
Si tratta di una prova riuscita, grazie sia all'eloquio del leader, un solista sulla scia di altri sassofonisti coltraniani, sia alle sue composizioni, rispettose dell'idioma jazzistico ma con una interessante vena melodica, tutta mediterranea. Con la bella ritmica a disposizione, in cui emerge il pianista Paolo Carrus, viene fuori un lavoro che rende giustizia ad una realtà jazzistica, ossia la scena sarda, per forza di cose decentrata dal punto di vista geografico, ma viva e vegeta da tutti i punti di vista, compreso quello organizzativo, visti gli interessanti festival estivi.
Tutti i brani mettono in luce la prorompente personalità di Piras, che non risparmia le energie ed è sempre fantasioso e brillante nei suoi assoli.
