E con loro Arthur Petties, Rube Lacey, Freddie Spruell, Jesse Babyface Thomas e molti altri carneadi e unsung heroes del blues degli anni Venti che sono qui raccolti in un'antologia della Sub Rosa che si ripromette di rendere un po' di giustizia alle loro chitarre e ugole polverose.

Lontani dalle santificazioni in vita e post mortem di molti illustri colleghi come Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton e compagnia, molti di questi musicisti hanno ballato una sola notte, o meglio hanno avuto solo una o poche occasioni di incisione, per poi sparire nel dimenticatoio.

Ben venga dunque questa raccolta, che di ciascuno racconta nel booklet quelle poche notizie che si sanno [taluno, come Tom Dickson, manca persino di data di nascita e morte] e bene inquadra la loro musica e qualche aneddoto in un viaggio musicale davvero fuori dal tempo, delizioso e assolutamente consigliato.

Di questi musicisti si persero le tracce dopo la Grande Depressione del 1929, chissà che il loro riapparire in questi anni di altrettanta crisi non sia il segno che, non solo come dicevano i Perigeo "abbiamo tutti un blues da piangere," ma anche delle radici per ripartire!
