Javier Girotto - Luciano Biondini: Iguazù
Delle complessive quattordici tracce, quattro sono del fisarmonicista umbro, ma l'intesa con il sassofonista argentino è tale che quella d'apertura, di Biondini, sembra scritta per il suo soprano nervoso, drammatico ed estremo. E anche visivamente i due mostrano la loro intesa musicale.
Le composizioni intense, ove Girotto dà sfogo alla sua ben nota e torrenziale verve improvvisativa, si alternando ad altre più pacate, come la stessa title track, ove il sassofonista suona con maggior lirismo e imbraccia occasionalmente anche il baritono. Vi sono poi deliziosi pezzi di bravura, come "Aranas," nella quale i due creano fraseggi strettamente intrecciati, con un ritmo che si penserebbe impossibile per due ance senza altri accompagnamenti. Bella, nel DVD, la ripresa di "Aires Tango," una delle composizioni che, con l'omonimo quartetto, mise in luce Girotto ormai una quindicina d'anni orsono.
Lavoro intenso, gusotosissimo, il cui unico limite è forse la complessiva prevedibilità: è il prezzo che paga chi ha il pregio di star diventando un "classico".
