Luca Cosi Quartet & Winds: I colori del suono suite

Un ottetto che suona ora come un quartetto “arricchito”, ora maestoso come una big band, impegnato in questo CD - sotto la guida del trombettista Luca Cosi - nella messa in scena di un affresco sonoro ispirato ai colori.

Così come i colori ispirano e titolano ciascuna delle tracce, le atmosfere cambiano passando dall’incedere deciso di “Indaco” al blues di “Giallo Ocra” (ove spicca un bell’assolo di Mauro Avanzini al contralto), fino al tango di “Rosso Argent(in)o”, passando per la mediterraneità di “Bianco Bianco” e per il ritmo forte di “Funk Grigio Roccia”.

Non mancano momenti anche compositivamente sofisticati, come “Melisma Red” e la finale “Sole Arancione”, dall’ispirazione africana, nei quali l’organico disegna i colori al gran completo. Su tutti spicca comunque sempre la tromba del leader, che trova numerosi momenti per librarsi liricamente con grande espressività - come avviene esemplarmente nella traccia forse più bella dell’album, “Il Blu dell’Orizzonte (ninna nanna per Bruno)”, nella quale vale la pena di sottolineare un breve ma intenso duetto tra il piano di Tina Omerzo e il contrabbasso di Piero Leveratto.

Lavoro impeccabile negli arrangiamenti, di un gruppo estremamente ben amalgamato e dal sound efficace.
