Our guest embraces her newfound freedom with a classic recording that encapsulates an illustrious 20-year career since the release of her debut album, Salt. She's become renowned for her deep contralto and personal composing style, has had a remarkable career as a refined, soulful original, working with a variety of esteemed artists on various projects. Lizz Wright is also a trained chef who founded and manages her own wellness restaurant and café in her hometown of Chicago. She embraces Shadow as an eloquent opening of an inspiring new chapter, this is her latest project which features musicians Angelique Kidjo, Meshell Ndegeocello and Brandee Younger amongst many other incredible musicians. The New York Times touts as, "a smooth, dark alto possessed of qualities you might associate with barrel-aged bourbon or butter-soft leather We got to spend time with her, as our featured guest musician.
