Le cantanti sono sempre alla ribalta e spesso con dischi autoprodotti. E il pubblico sembra apprezzare quella che è ormai una tendenza del jazz odierno.

Con dei sideman di tutto rispetto come il chitarrista Russell Malone, impegnato in tre brani in duo, od il cornettista Warren Vaché a farle da controvoce nei brani eseguiti in quintetto, la cantante americana propone degli standard della tradizione eseguiti in modo divertente e con una voce di tutto rispetto. Sa ben interpretare le canzoni affrontate e dialogare con a ritmca e con la tromba, oltre ad un simpatico duetto con Vaché passato a cantare in "Walkin' My Baby Back Home".

Rispetto ad altre che flirtano con la musica pop lei resta legata al mondo del jazz (anche quando canta su ritmi di bossa), al fraseggio tipico di questa espressione musicale, in un disco che si fa ascoltare volentieri senza aggiungere nulla di nuovo a quanto non si sapesse già. Con dietro una ritmica molto affiatata e compatta si presenta con un mainstream di buona fattura, nel solco di una tradizione ben accolta dal pubblico.
