We kick off the first show of 2023 with New Orleans drummer Wayne Maureau and music from his 2022 release At The Water's Edge as well as new music from Laura Ainsworth, Curtis Nowosad, Paul Marinaro and Yotem Silberstein. In between, we go old school with Billie Holiday, Jimmie Lunceford, Frank Sinatra and Bunny Berigan. One of our favorites and a pandemic hero is Spike Wilner who released a new trio album and is profiled on the show. Finally, we preview and celebrate the New Year with Brad Mehldau's "Your Mother Should Know.' Happy '23, kids.
