Wayne Maureau

Wayne Maureau has over 30 years of experience performing and recording with top New Orleans artists in all genres of music. He has also performed with international artists and at festivals and music venues around the world. Best known for his versatility he captures the essence and feel of any style of music from Jazz and Latin, to Funk and Blues. Wayne is currently a member of New Orleans legendary R&B, Blues and Funk band Walter Wolfman Washington and the Roadmasters, The Joe Krown trio, The Wolfman Trio, Mia Borders band, Trifuncta, and the Funky Uncle All Stars. He also maintains a busy schedule as a side man often performing with John Papa Gros, The Garden District piano trio, The Jeff Lashway Trio, Luther Kent, The John Mahoney big band, and Brazilian guitarist Giovanni Santos. 

Wayne serves as adjunct faculty percussion instructor at Loyola University in New Orleans. He is a member of the faculty jazz ensemble and instructs the Loyola Afro-Cuban Percussion Ensemble. He has given clinics and master classes throughout the southeastern United States and published The Multi- Stylist Drummer, a method book detailing his approach to the Drums. Wayne currently holds endorsements with Bosphorous Cymbals. Aquarian Drumheads and Fortune Drums.
