Guralumi: Fluturim Si Zogu

La miscela stilistica messa insieme da Gjon Guralumi, e dal suo ensemble, prevede l'innesto su ritmiche dal sapore jazzy di profumi balcanici, musica tradizionale dell'est Europa, folk in senso lato. Al centro dei significati emozionali espressi nel suo Fluturim Si Zogu c'è la voce della cantante svizzera Morgane Gallay. Il suo è un timbro caldo, sognante e avvolgente che caratterizza quasi tutti i brani in scaletta, grazie anche alle dolci melodie che riesce ad accarezzare con parsimonia, dosando sempre gli accenti in maniera adeguata.

Al suo fianco sia il pianismo del leader che la chitarra di Krenar Arifi e i sassofoni di Xavier Good contribuiscono a creare atmosfere esotiche, con intrecci dall'ambientazione fiabesca che si evolvono in maniera sempre originale, trovando anche nella ritmica di Lukas Knöpfel e Tiziano Tomasetti dei complici ideali. Tra i momenti meglio messi a fuoco va sottolineata "Ghishtin për unaze," un brano elegante e notturno, pieno di piccole sfumature e nel quale Guralumi mostra uno stile pianistico lucente, devoto a un certo classicismo e nel quale non si fa mancare l'occasione di intrecciare la sua voce con quella della Gallay.

Album esteticamente curato, pronto nel soddisfare coloro che cercano situazioni particolari (ci sono diversi tradizionali albanesi riarrangiati per l'occasione), dove il jazz viene preso a pretesto, quasi sfiorato, per poi prendere il volo verso lidi molto lontani.
