Costruito intorno ad un nucleo strumentale atipico (pianoforte, contrabbasso, trombone), questo album esplora un'ampia gamma di universi espressivi, dalla ricerca all'hip-hop al jazz più classico, grazie anche all'apporto di un nutrito gruppo di musicisti ospiti che, tra campionature e contributi strumentali, introducono elementi di varietà all'interno del trio di partenza.

Il nome della band, Yo Yo, ha quasi una valenza programmatica, nel senso che la musica del trio oscilla, in avanti ed all'indietro, intorno a vari punti di riferimento, a loro volta mobili. Nelle note di copertina, Arnaud Robert afferma che questo trio fa del bene al jazz perché cerca continuamente di sfuggirlo. Al netto dell'enfasi d'obbligo in questi casi, è comunque vero che questo trio si pone nei confronti della musica con un atteggiamento molto aperto, senza pregiudizi nei confronti di alcun genere o possibile direzione.
