Aa.Vv.: Disco Not Disco – Post Punk, Electro & Leftfield Disco Classics 1974-1986

Era in un certo senso naturale che per riprendere quel dialogo - sentimentalmente mai interrotto - con gli appassionati, la Strut inaugurasse questa "seconda vita" con un nuovo capitolo della raccolta Disco Not Disco, tanto più che le nevrosi della sonorità disco-postpunk sono diventate il pane quotidiano di molte band e dj electro di oggi.

Altissima la qualità dei brani proposti e ottima la varietà di atmosfere e di ambiti di pertinenza: se infatti troviamo "classici" come "Contort Yourself" di James White & The Blacks [nel remix di Kid Creole] o "Silent Street" dei Maximum Joy, ma anche i Konk, i Material, Delta5, inserimenti meno banali come quello del jazz degli Isotope o del pop elettronico della Yellow Magic Orchestra.

Suoni che si muovono attuali, che emergono dalle inquietudini di un decennio la cui ombra lunga si stende ancora sulla nostra musica: avvolgimenti robotici, sensualità dei bassi che diventa scarnificazione, l'esplorazione di sonorità che anche quando disturbano non siano mai prevedibili.

Bentornata Strut! Ottima compilation.
