Flora Faja: Dear George
La vocalist fa leva sulle proprie capacità interpretative e su una line-up di notevole caratura - dove spiccano i nomi di Dino Rubino e Francesco Cafiso - per dar vita a un album dalle atmosfere eleganti, levigato in ogni passaggio, colmo di sentimento e timbri calibrati. Gli arrangiamenti, firmati da Giovanni Mazzarino, che si distingue anche per un approccio pianistico prezioso e funzionale, risultano essere un terreno ideale per la leader, che si esprime in maniera impeccabile grazie a una profonda voglia di veicolare un pensiero importante, mai troppo incline a un ricercatezza di mastiere, ma sempre pronto nel percorrere un sentiero di sincera spontaneità.
Non possono lasciare indifferenti passaggi di forte emozionalità come "How Long Has This Been Going On," o le poetiche venature di "Summertime," ma anche il fascino di "I Got Rhythm". Potremmo continuare citando l'intera scaletta, composta da evergreen che è sempre un piacere riascoltare, a maggior ragione se presi in mano, plasmati e riproposti da musicisti di caratura superiore e vogliosi di emanare bellezza in senso assoluto.
