Gypsophilia: Constellation
Si parte dal brano "Zachary's Czardas" in cui troviamo atmosfere folk tipiche ungheresi grazie al violino di Gina Burgess e alla tromba di Matt Myer che supportati da una ritmica sostenuta vivacizzano il pezzo.
In "Skirmish" l'uso del piano Rhodes e dell'hammond conferiscono al brano un mood funky e swingante al tempo stesso, mentre "Montreal" sfoggia un arrangiamento gipsy grazie al trittico d'eccezione formato da chitarra, violino e tromba.
Da segnalare anche "Gouncort" che, dopo un intro di piano elettrico, prende un andamento simil-valzer con violino e tromba come protagonisti principali.
Nella folkeggiante "Vino Griego," i musicisti si lasciano andare anche ad un coro festoso. Non sono da meno in originalità e solarità anche gli altri brani.
Constellation ci mostra questi musicisti canadesi in gran spolvero grazie alla loro abilità strumentale e alla varietà delle soluzioni armoniche offerte. Tutti questi elementi rendono il lavoro solido e mai discontinuo. L'improvvisazione jazz unita ad una vena folk e manouche rendono Constellation il disco ideale per conoscere la creatività di questi musicisti.
