Al secondo album dopo il pirotecnico debutto di The Infiltration, il trio denominato Brainkiller colpisce ancora (in senso figurato, s'intende...) licenziando un album che definisce ulteriormente la loro schizofrenica e multicolore visione musicale. Colourless Green Superheroes, è un frullatore dove tutto è concesso, dove gli ingredienti base—il gusto per l'improvvisazione del jazz, l'energia epidermica e immediata del rock—trovano effetti imprevedibili con reagenti a volte improbabili.

Cori angelici da lounge-music, batteria con effetto campionamento, melodie che sembrano arrivare direttamente da un qualche contest canoro, tanghi sintetici, fondali ambient ed elettro-pop fiaccherebbero la resistenza dell'ascoltatore più ben disposto. Ma ((m: Jacob Koller = 16123}}, Brian Allen e Hernan Hecht trovano l'alchimia vincente nella quale batteria, tastiere, trombone ed elettronica funzionano come una piccola orchestra ricca di idee, talvolta appena accennate talvolta pienamente sviluppate, sempre comunque in grado di solleticare il piacere di chi si porge all'ascolto di Colourless Green Superheroes.
