Urs Leimgruber: Chicago Solo
Non c'è alcuna intenzione di distruggere le caratteristiche degli strumenti usati, tuttavia la vicinanza di stile con Evan Parker o John Butcher è evidente. I suoi assoli scorrono fluidi, la quasi mezz'ora del primo brano al sax soprano o i venti del secondo al sax tenore si ascoltano facilmente.
L'attenzione di Leimgruber, che dai colpi di lingua all'ipersoffiato utilizza tutte le possibilità che sono contenute nella grammatica dell'avanguardia, è rivolta allo strumento con tutte le sue potenzialità espressive e, così, sviluppa brani coerenti, scorrevoli, che stimolano l'attenzione e l'interesse dell'ascoltatore. Lunghe linee melodiche e gli squittii trovano pari valore e, in questo modo, la sperimentazione di Leimgruber sa trovare un aspetto accattivante e seducente.
