Marco Albonetti - Vicky Schaetzinger: Astor Place. El tango de Astor Piazzola

Astor Place - El tango de Astor Piazzola costituisce la documentazione discografica di un concerto tenuto quest'anno a New York, nel corso di una rassegna dedicata alle musiche americane. Consolidata è l'intesa tra pianoforte e sax, per aver partecipato insieme a diversi progetti su tango e Piazzola.

La formazione, la pronuncia, il pensiero, l'attitudine musicale e strumentale dei pur superbi musicisti è radicata del tutto nel mondo classico, attraverso il cui filtro vengono eseguite le musiche piazzolliane.

Ma questo è un magazine jazzistico e in tale ottica va giudicato il disco, sin troppo perfetto e diafano per chi è abituato ad ascoltare i musicisti dal pensiero esecutivo afroamericano. Per la gioia invece di chi ama il mondo classico, una musica di rigoroso equilibrio, di raffinata fattura elaborata sapientemente perché nulla sia lasciato al caso.

Molta accademia e poca la polvere delle strade, dei quartieri di Buenos Aires. Un progetto dove le atmosfere di rarefatto puntillismo prevalgono sul trascinante tessuto ritmico del modello. Una musica che contrariamente allo spirito piazzolliano, evoca un orizzonte incessante di mare calmo e non qualcosa di intimante forte, di intimo, vissuto e vertiginoso.
