Tranberg - Hyhne - Struck - Jorgens: Asta Nielsen - Towards the Light
La colonna sonora è stata registrata dal vivo il 25 marzo 2006 ma la preparazione è stata meticolosa vista la stretta relazione tra la musica e gli avvenimenti del racconto. Gli autori sono quattro giovani musicisti danesi operanti sia nell'ambito del jazz che del rock, più un abile "manipolatore di suoni".
Il trombettista Kasper Tranberg è uno dei nomi più noti, per lo meno sulla scena nordeuropea: il suo stile è molto influenzato da quello di Miles Davis, che attualizza con l'ausilio della tecnologia un po' sull'esempio del norvegese Nils Petter Molvaer.
Dal mondo del rock viene invece Jonas Struck, già componente della band danese Swan Lee.
Al lavoro di scrittura hanno partecipato tutti i componenti, sia individualmente che in elaborazioni collettivamente improvvisate ed il risultato è tanto omogeneo quanto interessante, soprattutto in relazione alle dinamiche filmiche.
Lo stile è contemporaneo e trasversale: l'impronta davisiana ed elettrica è evidente ma abbiamo tradizionali ballad, dalla forte impronta lirica (come "Ysabel & Felix" con il trombone di Mads Hyhne protagonista o momenti più aggrovigliati come "Now I Take Death From Your Beautiful Hand" e "The Wedding - The Destiny Of Leon Spontazzi") ed ancora situazioni sperimentali e astratte, dove si mescolano suoni acustici e sintetizzati con risultati davvero apprezzabili.
La confezione comprende sia il Dvd col film sonorizzato che il compact con la sola colonna sonora. Vista la profonda interazione musica/immagine il consiglio è di partire dal lavoro completo.
