Jazz at Prague Castle was initiated in February 2004 by the President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus. The series of performances has featured some big names from that country including bassist Frantisek Uhlir, who had previously released the live Jazz at Prague Castle 2006 (Multisonic, 2006), featuring a trio and a guest appearance by trumpeter/flugelhornist Dusko Goykovich. As a major center of the Czech Republic's cultural and social life, Prague Castle has played host to a series of jazz concerts that began in 2004. Based in Prague, this trio was recorded at one of those concerts on February 22, 2006, interpreting original pieces influenced by straight-ahead jazz as well as pieces by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sammy Fain, Dizzy Gillespie, and Buddy Kaye.

Jazz at Prague Castle is a series of concerts launched in February 2004 by the President of the Czech Republic, Václav Klaus.
