Erik Friedlander Throw a Glass Firenze Pinocchio Live Jazz 8.2.2020 Inizio della programmazione di Febbraio al Pinocchio con una formazione statunitense di primissimo livello: il quartetto Throw a Glass del violoncellista Erik Friedlander, con Uri Caine al pianoforte, Mark Helias al contrabbasso e Ches Smith alla batteria. Il gruppo presentava un programma in buona parte tratto dal disco del 2018, Artemisia, dedicato alla “bevanda maledetta" degli artisti otto-novecenteschi, il liquore di assenzio.

Erik Friedlander ci aveva deliziato nel 2015 con la pubblicazione di Oscalypso, dedicato a Oscar Pettiford. In quell'occasione avevamo apprezzato l'abbinamento del suo violoncello al sax tenore di Michael Blake, particolarmente riuscito.
