Present is an avant-garde jazz reflection on the passage of time, where Lina and her chordless ensemble playfully move between joy and sorrow. Lina’s intricate compositions form the backbone of the album, providing ample space for the musicians to shine and flourish. Lina Nyberg is an outstanding artist and, in many ways, a pioneer. Her spirit of experimentation and uncompromising
artistic vision continually lead her into new and remarkable musical territory.
The band features the long-standing rhythm section of bassist Josef Kallerdahl and drummer Peter Danemo, who have played together—and with Lina—for nearly twenty years. Their almost telepathic interplay creates a solid and inspiring foundation for the ensemble, alongside trumpeter Linnea Jonsson and saxophonist Fredrik Ljungkvist, both highly respected musicians on the Swedish jazz scene.
