Mamud Band: Afro Future Funk
Afro Future Funk si delinea dunque come una sorta di contenitore in cui trovano spazio tutti questi paesaggi sonori: dall'afrobeat della traccia che dà titolo al disco al reggae di "Careful" e "Tangible Dream," dagli echi anni '70 delle funk-band americane di "Mr. Mamud" e "Talmud," alla tradizione africana di "Sirius Hymn".
Filo conduttore dell'album (ma forse sarebbe meglio dire di tutta la produzione della Mamud Band), una massiccia presenza dell'elemento percussivo, cui controbatte - con altrettanto vigore ed energia - la sezione fiati. Il tutto, mentre sullo sfondo tastiere e chitarra disegnano schemi funk filologicamente impeccabili.
Contributi esterni (qui la voce di Mr. Bobcat, là un bel solo di Germano Zenga) impreziosiscono un lavoro compatto e coerente, tutto da ballare.
