Aki Takase – Louis Sclavis: Yokohama
Leggiamo, in questo sviluppo, il segno che i due musicisti non hanno affrontato la registrazione come un momento di routine ma con uno sguardo fresco, un approccio libero e scevro di idee pre-costituite. Ecco allora che Sclavis ci sorprende con inattesi echi di Steve Lacy; Aki Takase con guizzi sul piano preparato, tra squarci torridi e momenti di delicata poesia.
I brani a firma di Aki Takase sono stati scritti dalla pianista per le celebrazioni del 150° anniversario dell'apertura del porto di Yokohama. I fan di Sclavis riconosceranno invece i brani che portano la sua firma. Si tratta di materiale che il clarinettista di Lione aveva già proposto in altri contesti. Ma, come dice lo stesso Sclavis nelle note di copertina, alla fine si tratta di emozioni. Non importa lo stile o il genere, il materiale musicale che stai usando o lo strumento che stai suonando - ciò che conta è l'osare qualcosa di nuovo, inventare qualcosa di nuovo.
