Sonar Ensemble: While You were Gone
Le dodici composizioni sono tutte originali e per la maggior parte sono scritte dal batterista, anche se non mancano quattro brani a firma collettiva. Tutti i brani sono ben legati assieme e nel complesso disegnano un clima soffuso e traslucente, con la chitarra di Dave Gisler in primo piano, senza per questo essere invadente. Con la musica che viene sempre al primo posto, a prescindere da esibizioni di virtuosismo mai cercate e mai desiderate.
L'arco narrativo dell'album racchiude una musica che potremmo quasi definire 'cameristica.' Una musica che se ne sta racchiusa in spazi ben delimitati, senza mai strabordare con inutili forzature. Una musica liquida ed elegante, con ritmi sottili e raffinati, impegnata a procedere nel tempo con un suo incedere felpato ma deciso e originale. Un colpo al cuore e uno all'anima.
