Térez Montcalm: Voodoo
Sa passare dai momenti più intimistici (“Love”, “Growing Sronger”, “Parce que y a toi”, “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest World” di Elton John) a quelli più rock (la versione “unplugged” di “Voodoo Child” di Jimi Hendrix, e “Sweet Dreams” degli Eurytmichs), questa gentile Tom Waits in gonnella si diletta con la chitarra, ma anche col contrabbasso.
Voodoo è un CD che contiene 14 brani tra adattamenti e composizioni originali dal sapore molto jazzy e che spinge la cantante canadese nell’olimpo delle più brave interpreti dell’attuale panorama musicale. Una voce che sa spaziare con padronanza tra il repertorio jazz a quello più commerciale. Quando la Montcalm presenterà il prossimo disco tutto fatto di sue composizioni (in realtà lo ha già inciso 5 anni fa) allora capiremo meglio il suo spessore artistico.
Il CD è prodotto dal leggendario chitarrista e compositore Michel Cusson già con gli Uzeb nonché autore di numerose colonne sonore.
