Aa.Vv.: Vampyros Lesbos (Sexadelic Dance Party)

Un'etichetta "cult" come la Crippled Dick Hot Wax! non poteva che essere legata a doppio filo con uno dei registi "cult" del cinema europeo di genere, lo spagnolo Jess Franco, autore di oltre centosessanta film che spaziano dall'horror al sexy, dall'avventura alla visione pop-psichedelica.

Non bastano ovviamente poche righe per circoscrivere il posto che Franco - tra l'altro grande appassionato di jazz, il cui mondo ha ispirato anche diversi suoi film - occupa in quell'inestricabile intreccio di relazioni fra arte e commercio, artigianato e genio che è il cinema di genere. Ma non si può dimenticare la sua collaborazione con Orson Welles - in Don Quixote e Falstaff ad esempio - o la sua firma su "classici" del cinema più underground come Gritos En La Noche [da noi Il diabolico dottor Satana], Il Conte Dracula con Christopher Lee e Klaus Kinski e, per gli incurabili amanti di stramberie pettegole nostrane, Justine, le disavventure della virtù, in cui compare generosamente svestita una innocente e fuori parte Romina Power!

Un'altra giovane attrice - decisamente più audace e sensuale della Power - è stata per qualche anno musa ispiratrice del cinema di Jess Franco: Soledad Miranda, morta in un tragico incidente stradale proprio quando la sua carriera sembrava avviata a più nobili ruoli e cachet.

La Miranda è stata la protagonista di Vampyros Lesbos, film del 1970 in cui interpreta la parte di una sensualissima vampira che attira nel suo mondo delirante e perverso una giovane agente immobiliare [la tradizione del personaggio è lunga e risale alle gesta di Carmilla, correva l'anno 1872!] Pregi del film sono certamente, oltre alla ipnotizzante fisicità della Miranda, il montaggio frammentario, i toni psichedelici e visionari, oltre alla colonna sonora, composta da Manfred Hübner e Siegfried Schwab.

Tra i classici della Crippled Dick, questa musica - che comprende anche alcuni brani usati nei film She Killed in Extasy [film che vale probabilmente solo per una parte da poliziotto stupidotto affidata al futuro Derrick!] e Una venere senza nome per l'Ispettore Forrester - viene riproposta con alcune bonus tracks.

Delirante viaggio tra la lounge e il jazz elettrico, le citazioni più o meno scoperte [beh, ascoltate a cosa fa il verso "There Is No Satisfaction"!] e ballads sensuali, il disco è un colorato - e musicalmente calibratissimo - tuffo nelle atmosfere cinematiche di quegli anni, aggressive e sexy, attraversate ogni tanto dal sinistro ruggito di un organo, più spesso da ballare in qualche nightclub. Un classico del genere!
