Stefano Luigi Mangia - Adolfo La Volpe - Stefania Ladisa - Angelo Urso: Ulysses
L'eccesso di "concept" emerge descrittivamente dal fatto che tutte le tracce, ad esclusione delle quattro improvvisazioni, riportano una dedica a una personalità emblematica della cultura o dell'arte di tutti i tempi: da Gödel a San Francesco, da Borges a Einstein, da Leonardo a Dostevskij. E tali dediche, forse un tantino pretenziose, sembrano influenzare anche troppo le composizioni, per lo più decisamente astratte e intellettualistiche.
Questo tuttavia non impedisce che il lavoro, pur nelle difficoltà tipiche della contemporanea, sia fruibile in modo sufficientemente immediato e senza eccessive decodifiche, né toglie che questo Ulysses (il riferimento, ancora una volta intellettualistico, è a Joyce), globalmente preso, sia un lavoro coraggioso ricco di momenti interessanti, tra i quali spiccano il secondo brano, che richiama esplicitamente gli esperimenti vocali dell'ultimo Demetrio Stratos, e la conclusiva title track, dove a una improvvisazione sonora segue una rilettura contemporanea del canto sacro.
