La versatilità e la classe musicale fanno dei sette brani un concentrato di creatività. Il duo fra trombone e pianoforte tocca alte vette artistiche tra marce, blues ed avanguardia jazzistica. Alla riuscita del CD contribuisce in misura notevole la trasversalità stilistica messa in campo, per produrre efficaci contrappunti ricchi di sfumature.
Piace anche il piglio nel voler ridare nuovo senso e valore musicale agli stilemi del passato con rigore analitico ed espressivo. Il fraseggio dei due musicisti è articolato in infinite screziature timbriche dal tono vociferante, al cui servizio giganteggia un intreccio d'insieme coniugato nelle sue diverse possibilità contrappuntistiche. Oltre alla sopraffina classe musicale, si impongono l'urgenza espressiva e la consapevolezza storica rivissuta con il linguaggio contemporaneo.
